The use of fertiliser in agriculture helps to increase the crop yield and production on the farm, but when too much of it is applied to an area of land; it brings in many negative impacts. Too much fertiliser can acidify the soil and make it unsuitable for plant growth. furthermore, when these fertilizers are washed down into rivers or any other drinking water supply; the harmful substances contained in the fertilizer contaminates the water and makes it unsafe for consumption by humans.
